Privacy Policy

SmartPrep Labs LLP ("SmartPrep Labs", "we", "us", or "our") provides the IELTS Speaking 2026 Mock Exam mobile application (the "App"). This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is collected and used, when it is shared, how long it is retained, and the choices available to you.

1. Information we collect

Account and profile information

• Email address when supplied through Google or Apple sign-in.
• Display name and profile photo URL when supplied by your account.
• Firebase user identifier and authentication provider.

Speaking and learning information

• Audio recordings created during speaking practice or mock exams.
• The words you speak, which may include personal information you choose to say.
• Transcripts, scores, corrections, examples, recommendations, and other AI-generated feedback.
• The IELTS question associated with a recording or transcript.
• Study progress, completed topics, favorites, usage limits, and saved history.

Device, diagnostics, advertising, and purchase information

• Device type, operating-system version, app version, network information, IP address, crash reports, and diagnostics.
• Advertising identifier and ad interaction data where permitted.
• Store transaction identifiers, product purchased, purchase history, subscription status, and entitlement status.

2. How information is collected

• Directly from you when you sign in, record an answer, request feedback, complete a mock exam, contact support, or manage preferences.
• Automatically from the App, device, Firebase, Crashlytics, and advertising SDKs when you use the App.
• From Apple, Google, and RevenueCat when they report purchase or entitlement status.

3. How we use information

• Provide speaking practice, mock exams, saved history, progress tracking, and account synchronization.
• With your explicit permission, transcribe a recording and generate the AI feedback you request.
• Authenticate users, process purchases, enforce usage limits, show ads, and restore entitlements.
• Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, diagnose failures, improve reliability, and provide support.
• Meet legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

4. Optional AI data sharing and permission

When you request AI feedback or start a mock exam that includes AI feedback, the App asks for permission before sharing data with the AI providers below. If you choose Not Now, no new AI request is started.

• Groq - primary transcription: your voice recording and spoken content.
• OpenAI - backup transcription: your voice recording and spoken content only if Groq is unavailable.
• OpenAI - primary feedback: the transcript and associated IELTS question.
• Google Cloud Vertex AI - backup feedback: the transcript and associated IELTS question only if OpenAI is unavailable or returns an unusable response.

Your account name, email address, profile photo, advertising identifier, purchase history, and precise device identifier are not included in these AI requests. The data is used only to transcribe and analyze the answer you requested. Avoid stating sensitive personal information in a recording.

You can review the disclosure or withdraw permission for future AI requests at any time in Profile > AI Data Sharing. Withdrawing permission does not undo processing you already authorized.

5. Storage and retention

• Firebase Authentication: account authentication and identity.
• Cloud Firestore: profile, progress, favorites, usage, subscription state, transcripts, and feedback.
• Firebase Storage: audio recordings.
• Local device storage: temporary recordings, app preferences, and cached content.

Account, progress, recordings, transcripts, and feedback are retained while your account is active so you can use saved history. You can delete practice recordings in the App or delete your account. Subscription information may be retained as required for billing, fraud prevention, accounting, and law.

Groq and OpenAI may retain API input and output for up to 30 days for security, abuse prevention, or service reliability unless a shorter or zero-retention control applies. Google Cloud Vertex AI retention follows the applicable Google Cloud service configuration and terms. After account deletion, SmartPrep Labs deletes account-associated App data within 30 days except where retention is required by law.

6. Third-party services and protection

We select service providers that publish data-protection and security commitments and require them to process user data only to provide contracted services under confidentiality, security, retention, deletion, and legal safeguards that provide the same or equal protection described in this policy and required by applicable law. We do not permit the AI providers below to use your recordings or transcripts to train their general models without our prior permission.

7. Security

We use TLS for data transmission, authenticated access, server-side authorization, encryption provided by our infrastructure vendors, and limited operational access. No system is completely secure, but we review and update our safeguards.

8. Your choices and rights

• Decline AI data sharing without starting a new AI request.
• Withdraw AI data-sharing permission in Profile > AI Data Sharing.
• Manage microphone, notification, tracking, and advertising choices in device settings.
• Delete practice recordings or delete your account in the App.
• Request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability where applicable.

9. Children and international processing

The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence under appropriate contractual and legal safeguards.
